1. Chart Spotlight

A feature that we introduced in 7.0 is the capability to add drop shadows to lines, bars and pies. You can now enhance the look of your chart to simulate 3D depth for some really eye catching charts. Demonstrated below are the differences without and with the drop shadow feature.

2. Developers Corner

Have you thought about upgrading to the most current version of NetCharts Server but haven’t done so yet? What’s stopping you? Here’s why you should upgrade your NetCharts Server installation now!

Besides potential performance improvements you could achieve from chart generation optimizations there are new chart types and options you can take benefit from. For example, among the many new chart enhancements available are shading, gradient and highlighting effects, new corner and border styles and shadowing. NetCharts Server now also supports delivering interactive charts as vector based SVG with build animations along with the existing raster types (PNG, JPEG, etc.) and applets.

The current release of NetCharts Server is v7 and older releases have reached their end of support so we strongly recommend you to upgrade now!

4. Product Updates

NetCharts Pro

NetCharts Pro 7.1.3 has been made available which includes the following new functionality as well as various corrections:

• Support for locale specification during chart generation.

• Support for setting an Image instance on NFNote regions.

• Enhanced support for SVG images in Internet Explorer and Firefox.

This update is applied directly to an existing NetCharts Pro 7.1 installation. For more information, see KB solution 522, “NetCharts Pro 7.1.3 Maintenance Release“, which describes this release in greater detail including update instructions.

NetCharts Performance Dashboards

Visual Mining has released two updates for NetCharts Performance Dashboards. The first, KB solution 518, “Errors when attempting to save modifications to KPI Collections and/or Data Entities“, resolves an issue related to saving Data Entities or KPI Collections. The second, a security update, KB solution 523 “Predictable Shared Session IDs“, updates NetCharts Performance Dashboards to ensure shared session IDs cannot be predicted.

These KB solutions are available via our Customer Support Portal for users with a current License Support & Maintenance agreement.

Contact our technical support team for more information, to verify the status of your License Support and Maintenance agreement or to ask how you can obtain a License Support and Maintenance agreement. We always recommend that users with valid License Support and Maintenance agreements log into the Customer Support Portal and review the available solutions for any questions you may have.
