We value your business and hope to hear from you soon! – The Visual Mining Team In this issue: Have you ever needed to display a chart thumbnail in line with text but didn’t know how to build one or what tool to use? The thumbnail sized chart is also called Sparkline which is a small minimal chart without the usual axes, tic lines or grids. This chart type is intended to show a trend in a clear and simple way in the text it’s part of. For example: Using NetCharts Designer you can easily build a Sparkline template as shown in the image above. See our blog post where we guide you through 6 simple steps of how to build a Sparkline using NetCharts Designer. Visual Mining product’s core rendering engines share the same Chart Definition Language (CDL) language. While CDL is a text based language, NetCharts Designer offers a user interface with wizards and menus to design and style the charts, removing the need to learn CDL. The benefits include reduced development time, ease of development vs. manually defining templates, and the ability to access some of the unique and innovative features only available with the NetCharts rendering engines. You’ll find a great example in our blog post of how to use NetCharts Designer to build a template featuring multiple axes to present complementary data within the same chart. The first version of NetCharts Designer was named ChartBlaster and released in 1996. Since the first release it got renamed into ChartExpress and later Chartworks Designer before becoming NetCharts Designer as it’s known as today. Visual Mining has released an updated version of the signed NetCharts Pro 7.1 core JAR file. This updated ncp-core.jar file has been signed with an extended certificate and is used when presenting NetCharts Pro charts in applets mode. We recommend all NetCharts Pro applets users review the KB article and update their deployed JAR file. Using this updated JAR file it is possible to limit the warnings to a single dialog when the first NetCharts Pro is presented. For more information, see our KB solution 517 which describes the issue in greater detail and includes the signed NetCharts Pro 7.1 ncp-core.jar with instructions. This KB solution is available via our Customer Support Portal for users with a current License Support & Maintenance agreement. Contact our technical support team for more information, to verify the status of your License Support and Maintenance agreement or to ask how you can obtain a License Support and Maintenance agreement.
